The car park is rising!
Today sees the start of the work on the car park to raise it by around 1m to prevent the high water flooding that happens on spring tides.
Many a car has been caught out by the flooding which happens when there is a combination of Spring high water and low pressure driving the sea water up through the drains and taking over a large area of the lower car park.
The work is scheduled to take around 3 weeks to complete but there will be access to the valley throughout the project.
The raising of the car park should also make the new Yacht Club building not look so odd as it has been built to be level with the new car park and at present there is not an obvious way into the building without the use of a ladder!
We ask all visitors to the harbour to take extra care while this work is being done to ensure the safety of the workmen, staff and visitors as there will be a lot of large machinery being used at times.
Parking for all cars will be available in the valley and on the Admiralty Quay (near to the boat hire and sailing school) It is going to need everyones cooperation during this time and we hope to cause as little disruption as possible.
Thank you in advance for working with us to help improve Mylor for you.
